Erfurt (dpa/th) – Daycare centers can now apply to the Thuringian Ministry of Education for a subsidy for practice-integrated paid training to become state-approved educators (PiA). Almost 70 places will be funded at four different technical college locations with training starting on September 1, 2022, as the ministry announced on Tuesday in Erfurt. The state promotes the training allowance in the first year with grants per place of up to 1650 euros, in the second year up to 1730 euros and in the third year up to 1870 euros per month.
According to the information, additional applicants are to be attracted by the paid entry and the opening for a side entry into the professional field of educators. With the PiA model, Thuringia is reacting to the existing need for skilled workers in the field of early childhood education and creating a basis for targeted personnel development measures, according to the ministry.
Providers of day care centers in Thuringia can submit an application for funding to the Society for Employment and Economic Development of the Free State of Thuringia until July 11, 2022.
