Dresden (dpa/sn) – Nine young dancers from Ukraine can continue their training at the Dresden Palucca University of Dance. The university’s support association was able to raise money for this purpose in a tender from the cultural fund. The students, who are still underage, each receive 500 euros as a partial scholarship and can use it to purchase training clothes and dance shoes, the association announced on Tuesday in Dresden.
The dancers from the Ukraine have been studying at the Palucca Hochschule since April. The university set up a donation account so that they can continue their dance training in Dresden in the next semester. “All donations benefit the Ukrainian students directly and let their dream of a career as a professional dancer live on,” it said.
