Jülich (dpa / lnw) – On the Autobahn 44 near Jülich in the direction of Belgium, the police stopped a drunk truck driver at the steering wheel of an articulated lorry. The 41-year-old had more than three per mille in his blood and came to the police station to sober up, the police in Cologne said on Monday about the incident on Saturday. Drivers had alerted the police because his tractor unit was waving across three lanes, including the hard shoulder, towards Liège. Motorists had to swerve and brake to avoid being caught – including the police patrol cars. The man had to deposit around 750 euros as security. The truck was secured.
