Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – Fines from the city of Frankfurt can now also be paid when shopping in grocery stores and drugstores, for example. For this purpose, a barcode is printed on the fine notice, the city administration announced on Tuesday. The debtors could detach it, have it scanned at the checkout when shopping and pay directly. A total of 10,000 retail outlets would participate in the system developed by a Berlin company.
