Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – With a view to the upcoming holiday and the return wave this weekend, the ADAC Württemberg expects a lot of traffic and traffic jams in the southwest. On the Wednesday before Corpus Christi in particular, travelers would have to expect delays on the Baden-Württemberg trunk roads, the association announced on Tuesday in its traffic jam forecast. “We recommend only starting in the evening or on Thursday morning,” said Holger Bach, Head of Traffic and Environment at ADAC Württemberg. The day before Corpus Christi is traditionally very congested: Last year, 302 traffic jams with a total length of 609 kilometers were recorded on the highways in the south-west.
Since the Pentecost holidays are coming to an end not only in Baden-Württemberg, but also in Bavaria, the risk of overcrowded motorways with traffic jams is particularly high at the weekend. “We expect the return traffic to peak on Saturday,” said Bach.
