Sondershausen (dpa/th) – The fire in two residential buildings in Sondershausen in the Kyffhäuser district caused property damage of 40,000 euros. The fire broke out on Monday evening in the home of an 81-year-old woman, a police spokeswoman said on Tuesday. The flames then spread to a neighboring house. The 81-year-old and the residents of the other house, aged 80 and 82, were unharmed. During the extinguishing work, there were temporary traffic obstructions on the federal highway 4 near the site. The police are now investigating the cause of the fire.
