Manchester (dpa / lnw) – The change from star striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund to English football champions Manchester City is perfect. The 21-year-old Norwegian has signed a contract with coach Pep Guardiola’s team until 2027. City announced this on Monday. Haaland was able to leave Dortmund for the fixed transfer fee of 75 million euros, both clubs had already agreed on a transfer a month ago.

“I want to score goals, win trophies and improve as a footballer. I’m confident I can do it here. It’s a great move for me. I can’t wait to start preparing,” said Haaland, his father Alf Inge also played for City from 2000 to 2003.

The Norwegian national striker switched from Red Bull Salzburg to BVB in January 2020. In 89 games, Haaland scored 86 goals for the Bundesliga club and won the DFB Cup with the Black and Yellows in 2021. Several top clubs had advertised for Haaland. He admires City’s football style, said Haaland. “It’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.”
