Zülpich (dpa / lnw) – Two strangers blew up an ATM in Zülpich (Euskirchen district) on Monday night. The detonation was so strong that windows shattered, a police spokesman said. Local residents then watched the two suspects flee in a car. It is currently not clear whether they took loot, the police spokesman said. A total of 14 tenants had to leave their apartments after the blast. In the meantime, however, a structural engineer has determined that the building is not at risk. The extent of the damage was not known as of Monday morning. The investigation is ongoing, said the police spokesman.
