Many former ministers from Jean Castex’s government tried to retrain for membership in the National Assembly with different degrees of success. These are their results from the first round legislative elections on Sunday, June 12.

Joel Giraud, a candidate in the Hautes-Alpes 2nd constituency where he is also outgoing deputy, comes first in round one with 38.04%. For the second round, he will be facing Capucine Mounal (29.22% vote), who is the candidate for Nupes.

Former Minister Delegate for Integration received 34.58% of votes in Haut-Rhin’s 1st constituency, where she was investie by the presidential majority. She is well ahead of Yves Hemedinger, a LR candidate (20.57%), whom she will face during the second round.

Elisabeth Moreno was a candidate in the 9th constituency for French citizens living abroad. She received 28.06% of votes in the first round. She was second in the voting, behind Karim Ben Cheikh (Nupes candidate), who received 39.99%.

29.84% of voters voted for the former EELV executive and majority candidate in the 2nd constituency, Somme, where she was elected deputy twice. In the first round, she finishes second behind Zahia Hamdane (29.98%), candidate for Nupes.

The vote was won by 21.15% for Edouard Philippe, the former Secretary of State and candidate for Edouard Philippe’s “Horizons” party in the 1st Constituency of Haute-Marne. She finishes second behind Christophe Bentz, RN candidate who received 27.31%.

Parachuted into the 7th District of Yvelines by the former minister, he won 31.9% and qualified for round two against Michele Christophoul (28.6%), candidate for Nupes. These aren’t the final results.

The vote was won by 24% of the former sportswoman and sports minister who was invested in the seventh constituency Val-de-Marne by the presidential majority. She will be able to qualify for the second round if she is qualified. Rachel Keke, the spokesperson for the Ibis Batignolles chambermaids strike and candidate for Nupes, received 35.74%.

With 25.57% of votes in the 11th North constituency, the former Secretary of State finished second. He will be facing Roger Vicot (35.43%), a candidate for Nupes in the second round.

After being dismissed as minister for having alienated a part of the teaching staff, Jean-Michel Blanquer was parachuted into Loiret’s 4th district. It was a complicated procedure that did not work: Jean-Michel Blanquer, who won 18.89%, was eliminated in round one.

18.93% of voters voted for the former minister, who was running in the 8th Val-de-Marne constituency. She is not eligible for the second round, which will see candidates LR or Nupes compete.
