The Minister for Ecological Transformation and Territorial cohesion, who is the outgoing MP for the territory in 6th constituency in Essonne, is in poor shape. According to partial results, she received 30.4% of votes. She was outdone in the first round of voting by Jerome Guedj (40.4%), the socialist candidate of Nupes and former president of General Council of Essonne.
Amelie de Montchalin won the 2017 election in this territory. Jean-Luc Melenchon was the winner in the first round (30.72%), ahead of Emmanuel Macron (29.86%). She will be taking her place in government next Sunday.
