Bitterfeld-Wolfen (dpa/sa) – When a car collided with an ambulance, five people were injured in Bitterfeld-Wolfen, two of them seriously. This was announced by a police spokesman on Sunday on request. First, the “Mitteldeutsche Zeitung” reported on the accident. According to a police spokesman, the collision occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday morning at a crossroads in the city. The cause is still unclear.

Five people between the ages of 22 and 49 were in the car. They were all injured, two seriously and three slightly, the spokesman said. The driver and passenger of the ambulance were unharmed, police said. There was no patient in the vehicle, the spokesman said. The fire brigade spoke of six serious injuries in the accident. Because of the rescue and recovery work, the scene of the accident was closed for four hours until around 6 a.m.
