Bochum (dpa / lnw) – The employee of an outpatient nursing service prevented a senior from handing over valuables to a scammer. The 46-year-old came to the Bochum apartment of the 82-year-old in need of care on Wednesday. The old woman was very engrossed in a phone call and finally spread jewelry and money on the kitchen table, police and prosecutors said on Thursday. The nurse became suspicious and called the police.
The officials let the 82-year-old continue to make phone calls, but posted themselves in front of her house. In fact, a little later a 19-year-old came in a gray T-shirt with the inscription “Police”. The wrong officer had tricked the woman on the phone into handing over her valuables. The real police officers arrested the 19-year-old and an escape agent who was waiting in the car.
