Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) – Four months after a fight in Neubrandenburg, the public prosecutor’s office brought charges of manslaughter against two men. The accused are accused of beating up and fatally injuring a 30-year-old man from Afghanistan on a walk along the Oberbach on February 7, a law enforcement spokesman said on Thursday. You should answer before the district court of Neubrandenburg. Despite quick medical help, the victim died in a clinic on February 18 as a result.

The alleged perpetrators – a 16-year-old from Afghanistan and a 19-year-old from Iran – initially ran away after the incident, but were seen by witnesses. They were arrested not far from the scene of the crime and have been in custody ever since. The suspects are said to have given no information on the allegations to the magistrate.

The accused are said to have hit the older man so badly during an argument that he remained unconscious and suffered serious head injuries. Witnesses became aware of the noise. They provided first aid and called the police, who came with several patrol cars. After a precise description, the men were arrested in the neighboring Kulturpark am Tollensesee.
