Dresden (dpa / sn) – Lutz Rodig will head the Dresden police department from mid-June. He follows Jörg Kubiessa, who has held the position of state police chief since April 1, as the Ministry of the Interior announced on Tuesday. The personnel was confirmed in the cabinet meeting. The 58-year-old Rodig previously headed the police department in Zwickau and was previously employed, among other things, as a department head in the Ministry of the Interior to fight crime. Around 2,600 employees are currently working in the Dresden Police Headquarters. The authority is responsible with ten districts for Dresden and the districts of Meissen and Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains.
