Sonsbeck (dpa / lnw) – Criminals blew up an ATM in the anteroom of a bank in Sonsbeck (Wesel district) early Monday morning. Local residents heard a loud bang and, according to the police, then observed at least two people fleeing towards Geldern in a dark vehicle. The residents were not injured, but because of the damage to the building, the house was evacuated as a precaution. So far, the search for the perpetrators has been unsuccessful. It is still unclear whether money was stolen.
