Priborn/Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) – Six months after a dead woman was found in Priborn (Mecklenburg Lake District), her husband has to answer in court. As the Neubrandenburg district court announced on Wednesday, the 65-year-old is accused of manslaughter. The trial is scheduled to begin June 14, with a verdict expected on August 9.

According to the indictment, the accused is said to have suffocated the woman on December 6 in the bedroom of the house they shared. Then he triggered a gas explosion in the bedroom with a gas bottle and a candle. The motive has so far remained unclear.

The 65-year-old suffered severe burns. The rescuers found the seriously injured man and the dead man, so that the man was investigated shortly after the incident. The suspect survived and was taken into custody. Among other things, the explosion ripped out a window in the house, but there was no open fire. Six days of negotiations are planned for the process.
