Erfurt (dpa/th) – After a two-year break due to corona, Erfurt’s city center will once again become a big stage for the 45th Krämerbrückenfest from June 17th to 19th, 2022. The organizers announced on Wednesday that the local cultural scene in particular would be given more space in many places. Despite a short planning time, it was possible to put together a program that is in no way inferior to the previous festivals, said Erfurt’s deputy for culture and urban development, Tobias Knoblich (independent). In 2019, Thuringia’s largest old town festival attracted between 110,000 and 130,000 guests.
In order to make the Krämerbrückenfest more spacious and to equalize the event area, other locations around the Krämerbrücke were developed as a central point this year. For example, the Petersberg will be a new venue on the weekend of the Krämerbrückenfest. The Wenigemarkt, which is to become the Klangsalon this year, was also mentioned. This is where Erfurt DJs, selected from numerous applications, present themselves.
The 19 works of art for the open-air gallery “Look up” were selected from over 100 applications. In order to make the works of Erfurt artists visible at the Krämerbrückenfest, they are presented at lofty heights from the Long Bridge to the Kettenstrasse.
