Chemnitz (dpa / sn) – The public prosecutor’s office in Chemnitz has brought charges against a 34-year-old who is said to have threatened his child with a knife a few days ago. During a check, he pulled out a 30-centimetre-long knife and held it several times to the girl’s throat and stomach, said the Chemnitz police department. Previously, there had been an argument with his partner, who asked the police for help. They managed to overpower the man and take the knife from him. The child was unharmed.
According to the information, the 34-year-old was on probation at the time. An arrest warrant was issued against him because of the risk of absconding. The charges were coercion and threats, it said.
