Stadtbergen (dpa/lby) – In Swabia, a youth soccer game led to a group brawl with several injuries. A 43-year-old and a 15-year-old player had to be taken to the Augsburg Clinic for treatment, the police reported on Friday. Several people are now being investigated for dangerous bodily harm.
The football game took place on Wednesday evening in the Augsburg suburb of Stadtbergen. Apparently, when the home team scored a goal, the visiting coach was insulted by a player from Stadtbergen. The coach is said to have hit the youngster on the head. “Several people from different camps then intervened and a real scuffle ensued,” the police reported.
The 43-year-old father of the home-team player, who is said to have insulted the opposing coach, fell to the ground and was repeatedly kicked in the head by a 15-year-old from the visiting team. The father suffered a bruised skull and a laceration. His young opponent also suffered a head injury. The police are now trying to reconstruct exactly what happened.
