Magdeburg/Potsdam (dpa/sa) – According to a study, the Baukindergeld has been better accepted in Saxony-Anhalt than the national average. The LBS Ostdeutsche Landesbausparkasse announced on Wednesday in Potsdam that the proportion of households with children in the building family was high at 2.4 percent. Nationwide, the proportion is 2.1 percent. Based on the total number of households, the utilization rate in Saxony-Anhalt is 0.4 percent.
The Ostdeutsche Landesbausparkasse refers to an evaluation by the Darmstadt Institute for Housing and Environment (IWU) on behalf of the Federal Institute for Building, Urban and Spatial Research (BBSR).
The Baukindergeld can be applied for since September 2018. The aim of the temporary support is to make it easier for young families with middle incomes to build or buy a house.
Families can apply for Baukindergeld within six months of moving into their new home. This is possible for the last time on December 31, 2023 – but only if the contracts were signed by the end of March 2021 or the construction had been approved by then.
