Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Because the train wants to bring routes and tracks in the Stuttgart S-Bahn network into shape again this summer, patience is again required for tens of thousands of commuters during the holidays. This applies above all to routes via the districts of Zuffenhausen and Feuerbach, Vaihingen and Rohr, as well as to the Stuttgart main tunnel route. “Due to extensive construction work, there will be changes to the timetable here in the summer months,” said Deutsche Bahn on Tuesday.

Among other things, there should also be major timetable changes on the main route in the city center this year, because the railways, according to their own statements, will start digitizing the Stuttgart railway junction during the summer holidays. Around 400 kilometers of new cable lines would be laid, the railway said. In addition, several stations are to be modernized. For this purpose, the tunnel between the main station (low) and Stuttgart-Vaihingen will be closed. Stations such as Stadtmitte, Feuersee, Schwabstraße, Universität and Österfeld are not served. Trains run every half hour on all S-Bahn lines, with longer journey times between July 30 and September 11.
