Stuttgart/Mannheim (dpa/lsw) – Climate protection activists from the “Last Generation” group blocked roads in Stuttgart and Mannheim again on Monday morning and brought commuter traffic to a standstill. In Mannheim, four of the five demonstrators stuck their hands on the road. In Stuttgart, the protesters just sat on the street until officials carried them away, the police said.

The group “uprising of the last generation” has been blocking roads and motorways across Germany for months. She is currently calling for a “stop to the fossil madness”. She also advocates a law against food waste and an agricultural turnaround to reduce greenhouse gases. According to the group, they want to regularly block roads on Mondays.
