A terrifying video captures a truck carrying U.S. Mail falling into the Charles River near Boston on Saturday. According to the State Police Association of Massachusetts, the driver of the truck was “remarkably unscathed.”
The tractor trailer is seen in the video slipping off the bridge to dive 50 feet into the water below.
According to state police, troopers and Weston Fire Department arrived at the scene around noon. They found the driver standing on top of the truck, who is unable to swim. The driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Police said that crews spent hours cleaning up the wreckage and recovering any packages that had fallen in the river after the truck was broken in half.
