The National Scottish Party (SNP) has promoted an unusual motion of censorship against Boris Johnson for its “disastrous actions” of recent months.
The motion directly claims a trimming of the annual salary of the “Premier” (from 189,000 to 48,000 euros) “based on the behavior of it,” although it has no chance of prosperse before the comfortable majority of 77 deputies that holds the conservative party.
“This prime minister is frankly a shame for democracy and for Parliament,” said Ian Blackford, at the head of the Scottish nationalists at Westminster.
The Labor spokesman usually says these days that “the joke is no longer funny. Well, Scotland did not see the grace to joke from the beginning.”
Blackford accused Johnson’s “frequently violating the principle of honesty in a public office”.
“In the eyes of the British, this is a government that has normalized corruption, which does not require responsibilities and in which no one never resigns,” he said, at the same time he took advantage of the debate to vaticinate that Scotland “will be some independent day”
Despite not having a real impact, the motion of the SNP comes with an important symbolic load at the lowest time of Johnson’s popularity since its overwhelming victory in the December 2019 elections. 64% of British disapproves of their management and
52% believe that it is “incompetent”.
Keir Starmer’s Labor Party has even been ahead of the conservative match in surveys (37% to 36%), according to the last Opinium survey for ‘The Observer’.
With a score of less 17.2, Boris Johnson is the second member of his worst cabinet valued in an internal conservative home survey (just behind his right hand in Parliament, Mark Spencer, with less 21.1).
As a counterpoint, the Foreign Secretariat, Liz Truss, is the best valued by the militants with a positive index of “satisfaction” of 82.3%.
The restlessness among the “Tories” has gone to more in the last week, after the fiasco of Boris Johnson in his intervention before the CBI employer, when he lost the papers and he said about the cartoon character PEPPA PIG as an example of creativity and
British innovation.
The cancellation of a high-speed train section to the north and the rugged vote of the health and social care law (half a hundredthon boycotton), have left in a very vulnerable position to the “Premier”, which leads a
Month suffering from the wear of the corruption scandal starring his old protected Owen Patterson.
The frustration between the “Tories” is such that at least a dozen deputies have written letters of “censorship” to the “Premier” directed to the President of the Parliamentary Committee, Graham Brady.
If the Committee reaches 54 letters, the equivalent of 15% of deputies would activate a contest for the election of a new leader, as happened with Theresa May.
Sources cited by ‘The Daily Telegraph’, the entire life newspaper of Boris Johnson, have pointed out, however, that the maneuver is directed by “the usual suspects” of the party and that will not come far away.
The Secretary of Health, Sajid Javid, came together in defense of his leader and said that Johnson is “a winner” who will represent the party in the upcoming elections.
The elections on Thursday for the seat of Old Bexley and Sidcup, after the death of Conservative James Brokenshire, will be the clearest chance to check if Johnson has lost the popular pull.
The “Premier” is now clinging to the reaction to the variant omicron of the Covid and the presentation of the plan of it to “equal and level” the country as its two lifeboats in the final stretch of the year.
“Unless this prime minister is censored, and unless he faces the consequences of disastrous actions, he will think that he can do the same again and again and survive the chaos he has created in recent months,” said Scottish nationalist Ian
Balkford as a progress to the motion of censorship.
“All these scandals are distracting us from the issues that really matter: outside the Circus of Westminster, people are suffering the increase in the cost of life.”
The leader of the Labor Opposition, Keir Starmer, took advantage of Johnson’s moment of weakness to reinforce his cabinet “in the shade” and leave again in the stake at his number two, Angela Rayner, who sees up to raise Yvette Cooper
, Lisa Nandy and David Lammy.
