The Pentagon announced the creation of an office to collect and analyze all the information about unidentified flying objects (UFOs) observed by the different branches of US military forces.
This “synchronization group on the identification and management of aerial objects” or AOIMSG, replaces the “Working Cell on unidentified aerial phenomena” created in August 2020 and then entrusted to the United States Navy
, the Department of Defense announced in a statement on Tuesday night.
The new office is left under the responsibility of Undersecretary of Defense in charge of Intelligence and Safety, a sign that for US forces “unidentified aerial phenomena” do not come from green little men but very real adversaries of the United States.
Washington is particularly concerned about China’s espionage capabilities that uses drones or other air media.
The future Director of the AOIMSG, not yet appointed, will synchronize activities in this area and US intelligence services.
The Pentagon published three videos last year taken by ridens of the Navy, one in November 2004 and the other two in January 2015, which show meetings with “unidentified aerial phenomena”.
In one, an elongated object is appreciated that moves quickly and that, a few seconds after being detected by the sensors of the navy aircraft, disappears after a sudden acceleration.
In the other video, an object is distinguished above the clouds and the pilot wonders if it is a drone.
