The fine line between the imprudence and heroism resides in small details.
Transatlantic Travel such as those of Christopher Colon or Magallanes are world history transmitted from generation to generation.
The journey of Galician Agustín Álvarez, in November 2019, is not very different except for the end.
Its semissumergible carbon fiber was not much more resilient than a fifteenth century caravel and it embarked with two more men, crossed the Atlantic locked in a claustrophobic space without just food and water and at 21 days he arrived at the Galician coast
.

They could be history book heroes except for the small detail that they carried 3,000 kilos of cocaine, which darkens the feat.
ESE, that of the first narcosubmarino intercepted in Europe, is the material that Daniel Calparsoro manages for his black tide operation, the first joint production between Spain and Portugal of Amazon Prime, who has just closed his filming, in which the world was in
The Galician town of Aguiño, where it was filmed for four days.

“Doing all this journey is commendable in some way. If you had transported tulips, it would be otherwise seen,” explains the Catalan director about an 8,000-kilometer crossing between Brazil and the Azores, which ended on the Galician coast with three arrested crew,
A trial already about to start and some admiration even of the Civil Guard.
Everything was in anecdote, until a research journalist, Javier Romero, contacted fiction productions to take it to the screen.

As the research was joint of Spain, Portugal, Italy, Colombia and several more countries, adaptation “could not be counted only from Galicia,” says Producer Mamen Quintas, because he would have gaps.
There the collaboration with Portugal appeared, which followed Calparsoro’s self, which contributed his spectacular vision of the action, far from the documentary tone, on a project that will see the light at the beginning of 2022, as he could know this newspaper.
“It’s amazing, coordinates boats, helicopters and explosions, while you are fixed on whether you have well placed the flap or do not provide enough emotionality,” says the protagonist, Álex González.

Actor Madrid is the Galician Agustín Álvarez and Leandro Firmino and David Trejos, his two companions, who have gone from being two Ecuadorians to a Colombian and a Brazilian.
“This comes out of the normal concept of Sicario and Assassin, that for my nationality I have been able to do several times. Here I have been able to take the character to all its dimensions,” details Trejos.
Although now they are delighted with the project, the psychological and physical preparation to get into an accurate replica to the original, 20 meters from length, it was complex.
“I had to hire a swimming teacher for the open sea shooting,” he says firmino.

The almost non-existent northern summer this year has also contributed the credible tone to a lugubrious fiction and full of risks.
“Imagine all this in a sunny environment, it would seem the French Riviera,” says Calparsoro, who during the filming had to direct actors and pilots.
Because the Civil Guard contributed helicopters, boats or real patrol boats from his reservation.
“It’s a spectacle to see you directly directing the vehicles,” they point out from the filming equipment.

That added a technical challenge to the already known world of mafias, which in this fiction was facing the novelty of the method, at least, in Europe.
This was not the only submarine who made a similar trip, in Latin America the police bodies have already hunted several, but the first intercepted crossing the Atlantic.
“Drug is one of the largest businesses in the world with weapons and oil, if we do not know more, it is because we do not want and people from the high spheres, but in this case the audacity and the novelty of transporting them in
A submarine, “explains Calparsoro.

To understand well the actual case that occurred in 2019, together with the series, Amazon Prime will also premiere a documentary that will address the official statements and the faithful stories of the protagonists for those who want to know their involved in flesh and blood.
“We left the end open because there is a lot to tell. The more we investigate, the more we have. The judgment will come out in November or December, and, from there, we are raising a next season,” says Mamen Quintas.
