Isabel Zubiaurre, doctor in physics and responsible for meteorology in the sixth, was on Sunday, September 19 in the special that the chain dedicated to the eruption of the volcano in La Palma.
A video taken from context has been viral and has caused a barrage of criticism on social networks.
The presenter was talking to the Sismologist Jesus Ibáñez when he stressed that it was a historical episode: “We have never faced him and less with the current means we have. Henguía was 50 years ago.”
She then asked the expert advice for firefighters, forest agents and civil protection workers, asking “how a volcano goes off.”
The clip released on Twitter exceeds the million reproductions and the 7,000 retutes.
However, some users showed that the piece omits what Zubiaurre said then, since it reformulated the question immediately: “Well, no longer how the volcano is turned off, obviously, but how the possible fires that may occur to their
around”.
Many people shared the video cut to attack the presenter and make fun of it in social networks.
“You can not turn off a volcano! What did they give you in geography or natural? It can not be,” a user wrote.
“There are firefighters looking for the lid right now,” said another.
“You blow, blow very hard,” shared a third.
On the other hand, there were those who showed that Isabel Zubiaurre were taken out of context.
Luis Cortés Bridol, presenter on 2, explained it in a thread: “The video is cut there, the tuit is shared with poison and people throw themselves at the neck to laugh at it and proffer insults.”
He exposed: “The malicious fragment is already viral and few will realize that it was edited with a mood of becoming garbage made to laugh at someone.”
Other tubers charged who cut the clip: “How smart you are and how you manipulate the information … put the whole video, go … or better, put in the position of the presenter and do it better than her. Seeking the viralization to
Top. So come on. ”
Isabel Zubiaurre shared in his Twitter account several publications of people who defended her and who taught his statements about the full palm volcano.
“Do not offend who wants, but who can,” he said in one of his messages.
In another he wanted to highlight the support she was receiving from other professionals: “The good good holders of digital newspapers and social networks is this, the companions”.
