At the end of this year Microsoft will extend the support of your Game Service in the Cloud, Xcloud, Xbox Series S, X and Xbox One consoles. Thanks to him, players can play the catalog games on streaming instantaneously
, without the need to download the titles to execute them locally.
The decision may seem a bit absurd.
By definition, the vast majority of Xcloud games are available for direct download and optimized for consoles.
All Game Pass users, the monthly subscription service to the company’s games, have access to them at no additional cost.
But there are some advantages thanks to this new function.
The most obvious is that the players will not have to wait several minutes (or hours) to download games.
You can start playing the first game almost instantaneously while the title is discharged in the background.
The second is that for Xbox One and Xbox Series S players, Xcloud can offer something more graphically, since the titles are run on the servers within the equivalent of an Xbox Series X, the most powerful Microsoft console.
The streaming resolution, in any case, is limited to 1080p to 60 tables per second (FPS) and not the 4K that is capable of offering the console.
This functionality, in addition, will allow players to try games that until now could not run on the Xbox One console (launched to the market five years ago) due to lack of graphic power, such as the acclaimed Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Finally, Xcloud’s compatibility also makes it much easier to join multiplayer games.
If you receive an invitation from your friends, a player can join without having to download the full game first.
The support for Xcloud will be available this autumn for Xbox Insider program players, which offers anticipated access to Beta versions of Microsoft operating systems and a few months later will reach the rest of the users.
The service already allows to play more than 100 titles on other platforms, including Android, Mac and iOS.
