wife of Arnim, how was it that you gave to wool the Hamburg ballet sweater made of cashmere?

it was an absolute heart’s desire. I know John Neumeier for many years and have always had a close affinity to art and culture. The more important challenging time squeezing the life out of us all with health, emotional and also business a lot of to show my appreciation, it is just me in this out.

What is your personal connection to the ballet?

dance and ballet have always been a source of inspiration for me. Of course, I have followed exactly as John Neumeier of Hamburg, an internationally recognized ballet city has made. I admire his unwavering creativity and the ability to have visions take shape.

How the dancers have responded, as you have handed over the sweaters in person?

In a time full of distance we long for us all to warmth, security and, above all, proximity. My goal was to give the artists the feeling, to be and not to be left alone seen. That this is success, I have, in the eyes of the Ensemble members to see. Each and everyone has chosen a favorite piece, in wonderfully soft cashmere, cuddled, and then for a little photo shoot posing. It is quite wonderful pictures.

It should even be the idea in the room that you are designing costumes for the ballet dancers.

Still, the collaboration is just an idea. But it would be a wonderful challenge to design pieces not only for, but together with the artists. That is exactly the appeal of the costume design clothing, to create for a specific Person, the convinced in an aesthetically and technically. On the wishes of the person involved, who has the big picture in mind. “Costume” was always Haute Couture. And when I think of how creative and innovative we have in the past four decades, Kashmir is processed and staged, then pictures arise in my head.

Some people think that the summer is not a Season for cashmere clothing. Do you have any tips on how you can wear cashmere?

he Who has once learned the benefits of this material love is this wonderful feeling also do not want to do without in the summer – such as protection from the fresh evening breeze or in air-conditioned rooms. Of course, one does not decide in the heat for a thick, chunky knit sweater. But parts from fine, two – or four-folded yarns not feel because of their lower density only very slightly on the skin, but are also breathable and even regulate the body temperature. Also, you take away in your suitcase for a little space. And they match the break on the island of Sylt as well as to holiday on the Mediterranean sea.
