The American film Director Carl Reiner’s dead. Reiner was born in 1922, as a child of Austrian immigrants in New York, served after school, in the military, became an actor and later Director. He has celebrated great success with “Oh, God…” (1977), “wealth is no shame in it” (1979) and “Solo for 2” (1984). Reiner had three children, one of which was turned to the Director Rob Reiner, among other things, “Harry and Sally”.
Grew up in an Italian-Jewish neighborhood in the Bronx as the son of a watchmaker, took Carl Reiner after High School classes at the Dramatic Workshop of the WPA (Workshop of the Players Art) in New York and traveled during the Second world war as a member of an entertainment troupe, under Major Maurice Evans to the South Pacific.
After the war, he continued his acting-comedic career, first with the touring production of “Call Me Mister”, a Musical,. His real career start, a nationally known comedian, he managed to the end of the forties as a player of Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca in the successful TV Comedy series “Your Show of Shows”. After nine years of involvement in this shipment of the basis for his television and Film career was laid. For the long-lasting Sitcom series “The Dick Van Dyke Show” (1961-1966), one of the most successful American television history, wrote Reiner, the screenplay and took on a role – he played Alan Brady.
