Talks on a new North American Free Trade Agreement between United States and Canada have been terminated without an agreement. U.S. President Donald Trump informed Congress of intention to establish a bilateral agreement with Mexico in future, in place of agreement of three countries USA, Mexico and Canada (NAFTA), US Trade Commissioner Robert Lighthizer informed. However, talks with Canada should continue on Wednesday next week. The negotiations so far have been constructive, re has been progress, said Lighthizer.

With Mexico, United States had already agreed on a provisional agreement. To include Canada, Trump had set a deadline up to this Friday. This will allow Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to sign agreement. He leaves office at end of November. Trump has to wait 90 days with his signature under American law.
