After incidents in Chemnitz, Free State of Saxony requested help of federal police. This was confirmed by a spokeswoman for Federal ministry. Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU) had offered help to Saxon police on Tuesday in form of “police support measures”.
As police in Chemnitz said, ir own officials are already on Thursday at civil dialogue “Saxony talk” with Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) and a simultaneous demonstration of right-wing populist movement pro Chemnitz Foreign Support. In addition to officials from federal police, forces of Bereitschaftspolizeien Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Bavaria, Berlin, Hesse and Thuringia also travel. The police did not want to announce numbers for tactical reasons.

Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) had stated that it was good that Seehofer offered support to Free State “to maintain law and order and to comply with laws”. The Chancellor also telephoned on Tuesday with Kretschmer and mayor of Chemnitz Barbara Ludwig (SPD).
