Checkpoint pointed to danger of invasion of election campaigns. In this respect, service plays an “increasingly central role”. Lastly, re were several Lynch murders in India by citizens who were brought up by rumors spread by WhatsApp.
On findings of checkpoint, WhatsApp stated that it had checked this problem. It is similar to trying to change content of a sent email afterwards. But re was no security issue with end-to-end encryption, WhatsApp clarified. This encryption ensures that only shippers and recipients of a message can read content. WhatsApp is “very serious” about challenge that false information could spread rapidly.
WhatsApp was founded in 2009 and purchased 2014 from Internet Group Facebook. At beginning of year service had 1.5 billion users according to its own data, 65 billion messages are sent via service daily.
