Sarah Silverman is speaking out about the “sacrifice” she had to make to grow to be a prosperous comedian.

The 46-year-old comedian took to Twitter Monday night to explain why she chose a career over motherhood.

“As a comic normally operating & on the road I have had to decide between motherhood & living my fullest life & I chose the latter,” Silverman told her much more than ten million followers.

“Males never have to do that. I’d so appreciate to be a exciting dad, coming household from the road & becoming my very best entertaining dad self,” she continued, adding, “u can not be a woman w/out sacrifice & that’s the reality jack.”

She then showed some love for her “comedian brothers that acknowledge this truth. They’re my family members & for a lot of us females comic sisters, our only family.”

Regardless of that, a number of fathers took issue with her series of tweets.

“I’m a fan but you jumped the shark with that 1950s stereotype,” John Miller Baron wrote. “Wake up and look about. People today sacrifice. Moms and Dads.”

Yet another wrote, “As opposed to self-serving guys like me, functioning 40-60 hrs/wk to feed & clothe our families. You happen to be so blinded by your personal biases.”

She also drew criticism from mothers, including some who chose each youngsters and career.

When columnist and mother of two, Ada Slivinski, tweeted to Silverman that motherhood has “filled my life a lot more than I could have ever imagined,” Silverman responded that she was only talking about herself and her fellow female comedians.

In the previous, Silverman, who has been linked to Michael Sheen since 2013, has also said she will under no circumstances marry.

“Why would I want the govt involved in my appreciate life? Ew. It is barbaric,” she wrote on Twitter in 2014 when engagement rumors very first sparked.
