CLEVELAND, Ohio — In the run-up to the Academy Awards, “La La Land” has emerged as the odds-on favorite to walk away with a handful of Oscars, including Best Picture.

The romantic musical could be headed for a historic night — it matched the record 14 nominations that “All About Eve” and “Titanic” scored in their respective years — but there’s still plenty to discuss heading into the ceremony.

Maybe you feel “Moonlight,” “Hidden Figures,” or another nominee is more deserving of the top prize. Or perhaps your favorite film of the year was overlooked.

In the acting races, Emma Stone, Mahershala Ali and Viola Davis are all perceived as solid front-runners in their respective categories. But it’s unclear whether Casey Affleck’s controversial past — including sexual harassment allegations made in two lawsuits that the actor settled — will affect his chances in an already-tight race with Denzel Washington.

Cleveland.com reporter Troy L. Smith weighed in Friday on what should, and will, win at the Oscars. And if you haven’t seen the movies, there’s still a chance to catch them before the ceremony.

Jimmy Kimmel has hosted the Emmy Awards twice, but this will be his first time hosting the Academy Awards. Do you feel he was a good choice for the gig, or would you rather see someone else on the big stage?

Many are also curious to see whether the ceremony’s acceptance speeches will touch on politics. Last month, Meryl Streep’s speech at Matadorbet the Golden Globes elicited strong reactions, including from President Donald Trump himself on Twitter.
