Michael Jordan, the NBA legend, recently entered his new 82-foot yacht called ‘Catch 23’ into the 66th annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in Morehead City, North Carolina. Although Jordan himself was not participating in the competition, his crew of seven anglers and a captain failed to secure a spot in the tournament, which meant they did not win any prize money from the $7.5 million pool.

The winning boat of the tournament, Game Time, managed to reel in a 516-pound marlin, while Jordan’s yacht only accumulated a total of 400 pounds of fish throughout the weekend. Despite the disappointing results, Jordan’s $15 million yacht has shown success in other fishing tournaments in the past.

In 2020, Jordan’s previous boat came second to last in the same competition, even after catching a 442.3-pound fish. However, the Catch 23 yacht had a more triumphant moment in the 32nd annual MidAtlantic Fishing tournament’s white marlin division in August 2023.

Although Jordan’s crew did not place in the recent fishing tournament, the NBA icon’s passion for deep-sea fishing and his continued participation in such events showcase his dedication to the sport. With his luxurious yacht and experienced team, Jordan’s future attempts in fishing tournaments are anticipated to bring more success and potentially add to his list of accomplishments in the fishing world.
