AXA XL has named Bermudian Michelle Bailey as the Head of Professional, Bermuda. She will be reporting to Noel Pearman, Chief Underwriting Officer, Bermuda of AXA XL’s Insurance business. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Ms. Bailey will be leading the Bermuda Professional Lines underwriting team, which includes Directors & Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Wage & Hour, Errors & Omissions, and Cyber lines of business.
In her new role, Ms. Bailey will be responsible for developing and managing client relationships across all lines and overseeing the execution of strategies to drive profitable growth. Prior to this position, she served as the Senior Vice President, Product Line Leader for EPL and W&H coverage lines.
Mr. Pearman expressed his satisfaction with Ms. Bailey’s appointment, stating that she is highly respected in the Bermuda market and beyond for her expertise in underwriting, particularly for Fortune 500 clients. Her leadership and her team are vital in AXA XL’s commitment to meeting the risk management needs of Large Commercial clients.
Ms. Bailey holds a dual BA degree in Risk Management and Finance from Temple University and has obtained her RPLU and AIDA designations. She is known as a thought leader in the industry, frequently speaking at international events such as the recent PLUS NY conference. In addition to her professional commitments, she also serves as a Board member of the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies.
