The priority projects mentioned by Emmanuel Macron during his speech on Monday evening do not constitute “neither a change of course”, “nor a big reset”, but a “willingness to continue to do better” and “more”, said Wednesday government spokesman.

“These 100 days ahead of us are neither a change of course, nor a political shift, nor a major reset. On the contrary, it is the desire to continue to do better, to do more, to do with all those who are ready to accept the outstretched hand, even if there were disagreements on the form or on the substance”, declared Olivier Véran at the end of the Council of Ministers.

“It’s up to all of us to tell or relay the successes of the daily life of the territories of our country”, insisted Olivier Véran. “Concrete achievements and progress too, let’s give them to see”.

“We are going to proceed calmly, efficiently so that the daily life of the French people is improved”, he promised, citing the health or school projects and insisting on the government’s desire to “launch our country forward” with the Paris Olympics, the ecological transition or the digital revolutions.

“Each of us is destined to go into the field. The President of the Republic is obviously the best ambassador of the policy conducted in this country for 6 years, so he will also be required to travel”, added he added.

While these trips are often accompanied by hostile demonstrations, Olivier Véran considered that “not only is it possible (to go into contact with the French, editor’s note), but it is desirable and it is even essential”.

“Exchanging with the French is never complicated, it’s always a chance,” he pleaded.

But he said he “differentiated direct and frank dialogue” from “mobilizations sometimes partisan, sometimes political, (..) sometimes very politicized and which would like to prevent dialogue”.

Among the projects that the president wants to advance by July 14 are that of a “new pact for life at work” to be negotiated with the social partners, and that of “progress” in public services such as education. or health.

“All on deck” around the “triptych”: “work, progress for the French, and order” urged Emmanuel Macron to the Council of Ministers, according to a government source.
