The Russian cosmonauts of the company Roscosmos on the International Space Station (ISS), Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin, have completed the first spacewalk of this year after seven hours and 55 minutes outside the complex.
Prokopyev and Petelin have been able to complete the main objectives of the expedition, which included the relocation of a radiator from the Rassvet module to the Russian science module Nauka. The mission has ended successfully and has been broadcast live on NASA TV.
This has been the fourth spacewalk in Prokopyev’s career and the second for Petelin, which are included in the 260 missions that have been carried out for reasons of assembling, maintaining and updating the space station.
Both cosmonauts will go into space again on April 25 to transfer an experimental airlock from Rassvet to Nauka. In addition, a further expedition is planned on May 4 to deploy the radiator at Nauka and connect the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic lines.
