Editorial workers at the Law360, a company owned by LexisNexis, have come to a tentative agreement for a new five-year contract. This agreement brings an end to a week-long strike due to unfair labor practices involving changes to the healthcare plan and illegal layoffs that occurred earlier in the year. The 250 journalists represented by the NewsGuild of New York (TNG-CWA Local 31003) at Law360 have made significant progress with this tentative agreement.
The new contract includes a variety of benefits for the workers, such as an average wage increase of 12 percent, extended family leave up to 14 weeks, an average bonus of $9,000, and solid job protections related to artificial intelligence. Hailey Konnath, a reporter for Law360 and the unit chair for the union, expressed the importance of this agreement in recognizing the value of the workers.
