Two brothers aged five and seven have been shot to death this Friday night in the Oise region of France.

This was reported by the Senlis prosecutor’s office, adding that, according to the first investigations, the father, who has also been found dead, could have killed them before committing suicide.

The police were alerted around eleven o’clock this Friday by several calls to the emergency number 17 alerting them to a “possible drama” at the home of a 43-year-old man, a resident of Nogent-sur-Oise, The Senlis prosecutor, Loïc Abrial, has indicated in a statement.

Firefighters and the ambulance service went to the scene to verify that the two brothers and their father had died.

“According to the first inquiries and the testimonies collected, the hypothesis of a double homicide committed by the father, followed by his suicide, seems the most probable,” added the prosecutor, specifying that the father was separated from the mother of the children. A firearm was found at the scene.

This same Friday night, a criminal investigation into the murder was opened, which was handed over to the Creil police station, the prosecutor said. Autopsies are scheduled to be carried out on the corpses next week.

While a medical and psychological emergency unit has been deployed to help relatives.
