RB Leipzig made a decision not to train at Celtic Park before their Champions League match in Glasgow. This choice came shortly after Brendan Rodgers criticized a possible mole at Parkhead.
Usually, teams training for European matches train at the match venue on the evening before the game. However, RB Leipzig chose not to train in Glasgow this time. Reports from Germany mentioned “Scottish spies” as the reason for avoiding a training session at Celtic Park.
Instead, Leipzig’s manager Marco Rose held a session with his players in Leipzig before traveling to Scotland in the evening. In the past, Rose used to coach his team at Parkhead the evening before facing Celtic.
The German newspaper Bild mentioned, “The club did everything to make this possible: yesterday’s final training session was moved to Leipzig. Instead of training in Glasgow in the afternoon, it took place in the morning at the training center, away from any Scottish spies.”
RB Leipzig also decided to stay outside of the main city center in Glasgow to prevent any disruptions before the match. They chose to stay at Cameron House on Loch Lomond instead.
Rodgers had expressed his disappointment at a possible Celtic mole leaking team information against Dundee and Aberdeen. He stated that leaks affect the team’s preparation and are not helpful for the club. He emphasized that true Celtic supporters would not engage in such behavior.
Despite the challenges posed by leaks and potential security concerns, RB Leipzig remains focused on their upcoming match against Celtic. The team is determined to put their best foot forward on the field and overcome any obstacles they may face during their Champions League campaign.
