Sergeant Raúl Molina Descalzo, assigned to the Artillery Group of the Galicia VII Brigade, has died a week after the accident in which one of the Army trucks in which they were traveling on National 112 in Soria overturned. The 24-year-old soldier, as confirmed by EL MUNDO from sources close to him, remained admitted to the Burgos Hospital, where he died.

“With a feeling of deep sadness, we regret to inform that Sergeant Raúl Molina Descalzo, injured in the traffic accident on October 19 when one of the trucks returning from the former GAMMA AZOR 23 overturned, unfortunately died today,” he said. reported through a tweet by the Army.

The events occurred at Km 244 of the N-122, in the municipality of Langa de Duero, province of Soria, where the military off-road truck driven by the soldier left the road. At the wheel was soldier Iván Mejuto Rodríguez, who died instantly.

Mejuto, assigned to the VII Field Artillery Group based at the General Morillo Base in Pontevedra, and Molina were participating in the AZOR 23 instruction and training exercise since last October 5, at the national training center in San Gregorio, in Zaragoza.
