This Sunday, October 8, the demonstration called by the Catalan Civil Society (SCC) organization against the amnesty and the right to referendum will take place in Barcelona.
With the slogan Not in my name, the protest wants to make visible the agreement for the investiture of the Government of Spain that Pedro Sánchez and Carles Puigdemont have negotiated in recent weeks.
The leader of Junts, a fugitive from Spanish justice since 2017, currently resides in Waterloo (Belgium) as a MEP of the European Parliament.
On the other hand, the national president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has confirmed that he will attend this Sunday the demonstration called by Catalan Civil Society (SCC) in Barcelona against the amnesty accompanied by a good part of its Steering Committee. However, none of them will lead the demonstration.
The presence of all its parliamentary spokespersons is also confirmed, such as the general secretary and spokesperson of the party in Congress, Cuca Gamarra; the spokesperson for the Popular Parliamentary Group in the Senate, Javier Arenas; and the PP spokesperson in the European Parliament, Dolors Montserrat.
The demonstration that will take place next Sunday, October 8, will also commemorate the massive demonstration called against the October 1 referendum six years ago.
The march is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. from Paseo de Gracia at the intersection with Provença Street.
The participants will advance towards the Gran Vía where a large stage will receive the head of the demonstration.
It will then be time for the speeches made by the president of SCC, Elda Mata; the vice president of the entity, Álex Ramos; the jurist Teresa Freixes and the former mayor of A Coruña, Francisco Vázquez.
