The fire at the La Fonda nightclub in Murcia, in which eleven people have died so far, is not the only one that this leisure area of ??Atalayas has suffered. Already in 2009, the Teatre nightclub, adjacent to La Fonda, had to be evacuated due to a fire involving cables that crossed its façade.
Specifically, the events occurred on June 21, 2009, when the fire of those cables forced the evacuation of the preventive establishment, at that time occupied by about 50 people.
The event occurred around 00:25, when an electrical problem triggered a fire in the cables that run through the façade of the leisure room, so the manager of the premises alerted the 092 room saying that the roof was on fire. .
Firefighters from Parque del Infante went to the scene with four vehicles, a first exit, a half exit, a ladder and a headquarters car, whose troops managed to quickly and easily extinguish the small fire.
The flames did not cause any personal injury, although smoke leaked into the nightclub and the Local Police proceeded to evacuate the customers who were inside and block the street.
The Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire in about 30 minutes, and technicians from the Iberdrola company took charge of the electrical installation, indicating that there was no danger, so customers were able to enter the nightclub again.
