Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Three strangers broke into a house in Stuttgart and attacked a sleeping couple. According to police, the men stole several thousand euros. The perpetrators are said to have pried open the front door on Monday evening, woke up the sleeping senior citizens, threatened them and demanded the safe key. While one perpetrator stayed with the woman, the others went into the basement with the tied man and stole the cash from the safe. The perpetrators fled after the couple locked themselves in a room. A police spokesman on Tuesday could not specify how this was achieved. The police and helicopter searched for the trio, but without success.
