Schwerin (dpa/mv) – The current status of the handling of the controversial climate foundation is the subject of a press conference (11.00) in Schwerin today, Tuesday. The chairman of the board of the foundation, Erwin Sellering (SPD), wants to express himself there. He had announced that the board of directors would resign as soon as business operations had been completed and the auditors had issued a certificate.

The foundation’s side business supported the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. After the start of the Russian attack on Ukraine, the state government and state parliament decided that the foundation, which was largely financed by money from Russian gas deals, should be wound up.
