Mannheim (dpa/lsw) – SV Waldhof Mannheim has achieved an important victory in the fight for promotion in the 3rd football league. The strong team won on Monday evening despite being behind 2:1 (0:1) against leaders SV Elversberg. With the acclaimed success in front of 11,680 spectators, the Mannheimers climbed to fifth place in the table and reduced the gap to the promotion ranks.

Within less than a minute, Fridolin Wagner (71′) and Adrien Lebeau (72′) scored for the Waldhöfer. The Elversbergers, who took the lead early on through an own goal by Julian Riedel (12th), suffered their fourth defeat of the season.
