Rostock (dpa / mv) – Second division football club FC Hansa Rostock has to change its starting eleven on Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky) in the home game against Karlsruher SC. In addition to center forward John Verhoek, who saw his fifth yellow card last weekend in the game at FC St. Pauli (0-1) and is therefore suspended, Frederic Ananou is also out. The 25-year-old defender is also suffering from a hamstring injury, as is Nico Neidhart, who could have taken Ananou’s position at right-back.
Instead of Verhoek, Svante Ingelsson could move from the attacking midfield position to the center of attack. The Swede already filled this role in the home game against SV Darmstadt 98.
After just one win from five games this year and only one goal scored, the Hanseatic League threatens to slip even deeper into the table basement if they go bankrupt again. “The alarm bells are on. We need every player and we trust every player in the squad. We need a top performance,” demanded coach Patrick Glöckner.
With just three wins from eleven games at the Ostseestadion, Hansa is the second-worst home team in the league. The last three in Rostock was on September 17 last year with a 3-1 win over 1. FC Magdeburg.
