Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – After the completion of the new production of “Ring des Nibelungen”, the curtain of the Stuttgart State Opera will open eight times until the end of April for the so-called “Ring” cycle, i.e. for a season of four parts of the opera classic . With a huge, fire-red ring made of spray chalk and with a diameter of 20 meters, the State Opera wants to draw attention to its work and building.

After the “Rheingold” premiere on Friday evening (3.3./7 p.m.), the second part “Die Walküre” is on the program this Saturday (5 p.m.) – followed by “Siegfried” (10.3./4 p.m.) and finally the “Twilight of the Gods” (12.3./4 p.m.). The entire cycle will be repeated on the Stuttgart Opera Stage between April 5th and 10th. Both cycles will be conducted by General Music Director Cornelius Meister.

The new production of the “Ring des Nibelungen” had already started at the end of 2021 with “Das Rheingold”. In order to gain different perspectives, each part has its own directing team.
